What to Expect From Your First Professional Pest Control Service

A lot of our customers have never hired a pest control company before. Many have just moved to Arizona and met their first cricket swarm, ant trail or scorpion. If that is you, this is what the first visit involves.

Before we arrive

We text before we come, so you are not waiting around wondering. To get ready:

• Unlock side gates so the technician can reach the whole yard.
• Bring pets inside or put them somewhere away from the work.
• Pick up toys, pet bowls and laundry from the patio and floors.
• Make a note of where you have seen pests, and take photos if you can.

Do not spray store-bought products everywhere beforehand. It makes the inspection harder.

When the technician arrives

Your technician is local and background-checked. They start by asking what you have seen and where. Ants in the kitchen, crickets in the garage and spiders on the patio all point to different things. This conversation keeps the visit focused on your home instead of a routine that is the same at every house.

Outside first

Most pest problems in Arizona start outside. The technician works around the home: the foundation line, exterior doors, the garage, patios, block walls, landscape rock, irrigation boxes and trash areas. Spider webs around the home are removed. This exterior work is the main defense, because it stops pests before they reach the house.

Inside, where it is needed

Indoors, we treat the areas where activity is happening. We do not coat every room. The technician will tell you about any re-entry time for treated areas. If you have children or pets, read our precautions page.

The walk-through

Before leaving, the technician explains what was done and why, and points out anything around the property that is helping pests: an irrigation leak, stored items against a wall, pet food left out, a light that draws insects. You should finish the visit knowing more about your own home.

What happens next

It is normal to see some pests in the days after a first treatment as they come into contact with it.
